Meet the Owner
Dan Fisher owns and runs Reset Water Damage from Longmont, Colorado. He started the company because water emergencies in the Front Range were being handled by call centers and franchise dispatchers who had never set foot in Longmont, and because the people doing the actual work—the technicians pulling carpet at 2 a.m.—were treated as interchangeable.
Dan is building the opposite: a small, local crew that knows the neighborhoods, answers its own phone, and enjoys the work. His bet is that a restoration company wins on its people, and that the way to keep great people is to make the job one they actually like showing up for.
A Culture AI Can Only Make Better
Reset uses modern tools everywhere they help: moisture mapping, photo documentation, drying logs, scheduling, and estimates are handled by software so the crew spends less time on paperwork and more time drying structures and talking to homeowners. That is the only role AI has here—removing the tedious parts of the job.
The parts that matter can't be automated. Walking into a flooded basement and telling a family, honestly, what happens next. Deciding in the moment whether a wall can be saved. Showing up on a holiday because a pipe burst. Those are human jobs, and Dan's goal is a team that does them with pride, has each other's backs, and has a good time doing it. The more the tools improve, the better that job gets—never the other way around.
